Azerbaycan’ın
Sokak Hayvanlarına Yönelik Katliam Politikasını Protestoya!
Azerbaycan devleti, 12 Haziran
2015 tarihinde Bakü’de açılışı yapılacak olan #Baku2015 “Avrupa
Oyunları” sebebiyle sokakları sokak hayvanlarından “temizleme” yolunda köpek
toplamaya, öldürmeye ve yakmaya başlamıştır.
Hayvan hakları ve hayvan
özgürlüğü savuncuları olarak açık şekilde katliam ve soykırım manasına gelen bu
hak ve yaşam ihlâline karşı Azerbaycan devletine “Dur!” demek ve bu
toplu cinayetleri protesto etmek için 15 Mart 2015 Pazar günü saat 14.00’da
Beşiktaş ilçesindeki Azerbaycan Cumhuriyeti İstanbul Başkonsolosluğu önünde
buluşuyoruz.
Kısırkaya ve Pendik gibi hayvan toplama kampları ve ICAM Koalisyonu ile
Türkiye’de bir süredir hayvan hakları savunucuların gündeminde olan sokak
hayvanlarının toplatılması ve sokakları hayvansızlaştırma projelerinin zihinsel
paraleli olarak vuku bulan Bakü’de Yaşanan Sokak Hayvanı Katliamına
karşı Türkiye’deki aktivistler ve hak savunucuları olarak mücadele edeceğimizi
deklare etmek üzere düzenleyeceğimiz eylemimize sizleri de davet ediyoruz.
Sokak hayvanların sokağın
halkıdır!

tiplerine ve Nazizmin toplama kamplarına değin uzanan mücadelenin

CRIES FOR HELP FROM AZERBAIJAN, ABOUT DOGS THAT ARE
BEING BURNED! (PLEASE SHARE)
Azerbaijan is "cleaning" the city from
street animals by collecting, mass killing and burning them in preparation for
the Baku 2015 European Games this summer. Until the Olympics 100.000 dogs will
be burned alive. For the comfort of incoming visitors to 2015 Europe
Olympics, the animals are suffering a genocide.
It has been reported that street dogs were collected and burned massively at
the district of Balakhani, Department of street animals, which is the
crematorium of Baku City Executive. The dogs are either brought here already
killed, or are brought and killed here. The officials claim a case of rabies.
However they are not checking the dogs for rabies, because among the killed and
burned dogs there are puppies as well. This can be seen in the footage through
the links below. For the puppies they do not even want to use the bullet and
they are killing them with a shovel.
The news, that was prepared about the burned animals,
were removed by the government and the journalists were threatened. Azeri
animal liberation activists and journalists are asking for support, saying that
animal rights activists’ interference with the burning of the street animals
and all initiatives in this regard are being blocked by the Azerbaijani
Government. The government is also forcing censorship on press. Indicating that
their freedom of information is confiscated, journalists and Animal Liberation
Activists announces that they need the public support of the entire world.
As this summers European Games approaches the amount
of dogs being killed and burned is increasing exponentially. This has happened
before as well in Azerbaijan, as in the 2012’s Eurovision in Baku. Local
activists say several thousand dogs have been killed here over the past
year.
So first of all we would like to make a call for a
worldwide boycott of 2015 European Games in Baku. So if please everyone can
spread the word as far and as loud as you can!!
We will be in front of the Azerbaijan embassy in
Istanbul on March 15. So, if possible any simultaneous solidarity action will
be important to show that they are not alone in Azerbaijan.
Please place International and local calls to sports
persons asking them to denounce the crimes and genocide directed to street
animals in Azerbaijan and boycott 2015 European Games!! We are also pushing it
in Turkey.
We believe this issue also requires pressure on the
European Union. The pledge of adjustment to the European Union Standards is the
excuse to legitimize such crimes. So we should also pressure European Union to
denounce these crimes.
Sending direct letters to the authorities in
Azerbaijan can be effective as well. More we scream together stronger the
